Eugene R. “Gene” Silvski 71 of Wintersville, OH died Monday, July 7, 2003 at Dixon Health Care Center, Wintersville, OH after a lengthy illness. He was born in Weir Cove, WV on October 2, 1931 a son of the late Michael and Rose George Silvski. He was retired from the former Satralloy Company, Mingo Junction, OH after 28 years of service, where he worked as a welder and also in maintenance. He was a lifetime member of Disabled American Veterans. He also loved hunting, fishing and gardening. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, where he was wounded in action in 1952. He was preceded in death by a brother George Silvski and a sister Juanita Miller. He is survived by his wife Zella McMenamin Silvski, whom he married on 7-16-1954, brother Warren Silvski of Philadelphia, PA, niece Cheryl (Jim) Huff of Wintersville, great nephew David Huff of Columbus, OH. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Wednesday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m., where funeral services will be held on Thursday at Noon with Msgr. Gerald Calovini officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Steubenville, OH
