Ethel Jean Smith, 88, of Steubenville, Ohio died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at her home. She was born June 15, 1926 in Moretown, OH a daughter of the late LeRoy and Bertha D. Jackson Bell. Ethel was a member of Rosemont Chapel Church and a homemaker. Preceding Ethel in death were her husband Floyd Dexter Smith; son Ronald Dexter Smith; two twin daughters Rose D’Andrea and Ruth Knight and great granddaughter Emma Stevens. Surviving are two daughters Patricia (Donald) Fankhauser of Steubenville, OH and Linda D. (Howard) Barker of Steubenville, OH; son Floyd Dean Smith of Steubenville, OH; brother Warren Bell of Steubenville, OH; two sisters Wilma McCollum of Toronto, OH and Dora Stricker of Richmond, OH; eleven grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Per her request a private service will be held Friday at Highland Hills Memorial Park Chapel with burial to follow. Memorial contributions may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.
