Emma L. Banovsky, 98, of Mingo Junction, OH passed away Tuesday, December 29, 2015 at Lancia Villa Royale. She was born in Mingo Junction on October 17, 1917 a daughter of the late Eli and Mildred Komlenich Mamula. She was a member of Finley United Methodist Church for 52 years. She joined December 22, 1963 and was very active member. She taught bible study in her younger years at Lancia Villa Royale, where she had resided the last several years of her life. She loved her Lord thru passionately sharing her faith testimonials and fervently prayed hard for her family, friends and community. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband John Banovsky; daughter Dorthea Vincent; sisters Sophie Omaits, Dorothy Benko and Mary Gnatovich; brother Pete and Nick Mamula. Emma is survived by her grandchildren Mark (Cristal) Vincent of Berlin Center, OH and Lori (Mel) Timberlake of Brilliant, OH; great granddaughter Ashley Fathbruckner and son-in-law John Vincent. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Saturday, January 2, 2016 from 10a.m. until time of services at Noon with Rev. P. Douglas George officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery. The family would like to thank Lancia Villa Royale for Emma’s excellent care. My deepest sympathies to the family.I have fond memories of going to her house for the Willing Workers class meeting with my grandmother, Lenore Grafton, as a child. She was always a gracious hostess and such a devout Christian.
