Emile L. Lerby, 94, of Bloomingdale, OH passed away on Tuesday, May 18, 2021 at his home of natural causes. He is the son of the late Emile and Ethel Treadway Lerby. He was a hard worker and was a US Army veteran of WWII. He worked in coal mines and worked his way up to master mechanic and later became a mechanical engineer. He worked for Hatcher Construction in Mingo Junction and later for Hoosier Engineering and then Emile returned to Hatcher Construction until his retirement. Emile loved to fish and cut grass riding his tractor. He liked to tease people light- heartedly and play little jokes on them. His laugh, kindness and love for his family are just some of the things that made people love him. He will be missed by many; his daughter Debbi and son Ed have lost an exceptional father and will miss him each and every day. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Dorothy “Dot” Orisko Lerby; son Ron “Butch” Lerby; daughter Diane “Danny” Haines; an infant daughter Terri Lynn and sister Mary “Sis” Gagich. Emile is survived by his daughter Debbie (Joe) Corder of Steubenville; son Ed (Ellen) Lerby of Florida; brother Burt (Alma) Lerby of Pennsylvania; many grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. You will not hurt anymore Dad we all love you and miss you very much. Thanks to the Bonecutter family of Bloomingdale. Services will be private.
