Elvis “Red” Crook, 74 of Wintersville formerly of Onalaska, TX died Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Lancia Villa Royale. He was born in Torch, Missouri on February 28, 1935 a son of the late Bert and Louieza Richmond Crook. Red was retired from D.M. International, Houston, TX where he was a subcontract manager and had served in the US Army. Preceded in death by sisters Norma Robinson and Alma Hepp. Red is survived by his wife Maureen K. Archer Crook, whom he married July 20, 1963; brothers Nelson (Betty) Crook of St. Johns, IN and Melvin Crook of Portage, IN; sister Ozella Hansen of Seville, OH; mother-in-law Mary Archer of Wintersville; sister-in-laws Frances Nottingham of Wintersville, Mary (Tom) Parsanko of Hammond, TX and Myrna Anderson of Mingo Junction; brother-in-law Charles (Peggy) Archer of Valparaiso, IN. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville on Thursday 6-8p.m., where funeral services will be held on Friday, 11a.m. with Msgr. Kurt Kemo officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to: St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
