Obituary For Elsie A. Cook Miller

Elsie A. Cook Miller, 88 of Wintersville, Ohio died Saturday, May 22, 2010 at Sienna Woods. She was born July 30, 1921 in Cleveland, Ohio a daughter of the late James F. & Verna Stevenson Ferguson. She attended Colonial Baptist Church. Preceding Elsie in death were her first husband Carl S. Cook; second husband Otis Miller; granddaughter Devon Cook; and brother Lowell Ferguson. Surviving are her sons Carl S. (Connie) Cook, Jr. of Wintersville; David W. (Debbie) Cook of Steubenville and William J. Cook of Pleasant City, Ohio; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; brother James Ferguson of Wintersville; four sisters Norma Davidson of Leetonia, Ohio, Mavourneen Kearney & Grace Huber both of Wintersville and Eileen Baldwin of Steubenville. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday 2-4 and  6-8 p.m. where services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Rev. Randy Sells officiating. Burial at Holly Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to Colonial Baptist Church.

    I am so sorry for your loss. The fond memories that she provided during my childhood and teenage years have flooded back upon learning of her passing. Sitting in the basement while listening to the drum solos...her making pancakes for dinner...and above all she was always there to give such great advice.
