Obituary For Elma G. Schoppe

Elma G. Schoppe, 95, of Chillicothe, Ohio formerly of Wintersville, Ohio passed away on September 2, 2025. Elma was born on June 6, 1930 in Steubenville, Ohio a daughter of the late Fred & Carolyn Bushmier Rabe. She was Presbyterian by Faith and worked for the US Postal Service for 22 years as a rural carrier in Richmond, Ohio.

Elma is preceded in death by her loving husband Fred W. Schoppe, Sr.; three brothers Delmas, Floyd & Virgil Rabe and two sisters Freda Houser & Rhoda Galloway.

Elma is survived by her daughter Carol Sue Schoppe Jester; son Frederick “Fred” W. Schoppe, Jr. & his wife Susan; sister Verna Patterson; niece Beverly (Michael) Arajakis; six grandchildren Stephanie, Kristin, Jennifer, Nathan, Dustin & Brandon and eight great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Thursday from 3 p.m. – 7 p.m. where services will be held on Friday at 10 a.m. with Rev. William Westling officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery.
