Elizabeth S. “Betti” Michael McElroy 67 of Wintersville, Ohio died Monday, December 8, 2003 at home. She was born on August 10, 1936 a daughter of the late Arthur Paul and Elizabeth Isaac Simpson. Betti was a member of Wintersville U.M. Church and retired from Big Bear bakery dept. She was a former member of the Steubenville Art Association. Surviving are her husband James D. “Mac” McElroy; one son Patrick Michael of Wintersville; three daughters Kelli (Ralph) Knight of Steubenville, Merri (Ted) Matthews and Kathleen “Cassi” Miles both of Brilliant, Ohio; four stepdaughters Debbie Daugherty of Chester, WV, Margaret (Dave) Folk of Medina, Ohio, Cheryl (Larry) Sako and Joan Beatty both of Steubenville; three brothers Arthur Simpson and Melvin (Pat) Simpson both of Richmond, Ohio and William “Blackie” (Jan) Simpson of Cadiz, Ohio; her former husband and longtime friend Von Michael of Wintersville; six grandchildren; two great granddaughters and six step grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m., where services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday with Rev. Clint Quillen officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Contributions in Betti’s memory may be made to Wintersville U.M. Church Memorial Fund.
