Elizabeth M. McGrew Riggs, 97, of Mingo Junction, Ohio, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, May 3, 2010 at her great nephew’s residence in Dillonvale, Ohio. She was born February 17, 1913 in Mt. Pleasant, OH the daughter of the late Fred and Carrie Sponhaltz King. Elizabeth was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Mingo Junction where she had served as the organist for many years. She was a member of the Mingo Senior Citizens and Shanagu. Preceding Elizabeth in death were her first husband Clark McGrew and second husband Clifton Riggs; sister Ruth Marchbank and three nephews Fred, John and William Marchbank. Surviving are her great nephew Timothy (Joyce) Marchbank with who she resided; three nieces Sarah V. Bendure of Gray, GA, Elizabeth Wheeler of Navarre, OH and Ruth Ann Marchbank of Memphis, TN; great great nephews Derek and Dustin Marchbank and several great nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Hoff-Shorac Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Ave., Mingo Junction on Thursday 4 - 8 p.m. where services will be held Friday 10 a.m. with Rev. Tom Thomas officiating. Burial at Short Creek Cemetery, Mt. Pleasant, OH.
