Our wonderful mother, Elizabeth  “Betty” Katz Cohen, 92, passed away on February 10, 2011 in San Diego, CA, where she had resided for the past six years. She was born in Steubenville, Ohio on November 29, 1918.  She was predeceased by Morris, her loving husband of fifty-six years and her brother Maurice (Gloria) Katz. She is survived by her four children, Steven, Robert, Thomas (Sally), and Barbara Cohen Lessem; three grandchildren Marc Lessem, Lindy Cohen and Daniel Cohen; and brothers Sol (Rose) and Lou (Jocey). She was a devoted wife and mother, always putting her family’s needs before her own. Funeral services 3:30 p.m. Sunday at Shorac Funeral Home (the former McClave Funeral Home), 611 North Fourth Street, Steubenville with Rabbi Beth Jacowitz-Chottiner officiating. Burial at B’Nai Israel Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
