Elizabeth Eva Swaykus, 97, of Steubenville, Ohio died Friday, July 1, 2005 at Country Club Manor. She was born in Steubenville on May 4, 1908 to the late John and Elizabeth Krak Fetzak. Elizabeth was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church where she served as a sacristan for many years. She was a member of Jednota Slovak Ladies Guild and had worked as a bakers assistant at Hornung’s Bakery. Preceding Elizabeth in death were her husband Joseph J. Swaykus on October 1, 1985; one brother; and three sisters. Surviving are her two sons Dr. Bernard (Martha) Swaykus of St. Louis, Missouri and Lawrence Swaykus and friend Cathy Doran of Steubenville; three daughters Mary Jean (Bob) Logsdon of Sarasota, Florida, Marcia (Dave) Hopkins of Atlanta, Georgia, and Peggy (Richard) Falkenstein of Wilmington, NC; sixteen grandchildren and thirty-two great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Sunday 6-8 p.m. only. Funeral liturgy with mass 10 a.m. Monday at Holy Rosary Church with Rev. Timothy McGuire officiating. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
