Gail White, 82, of Kyle, TX formerly of Steubenville died Tuesday, January 5, 2010 at her residence in Texas. She was born Elinor Gail Hesse in Steubenville on November 6, 1927. She loved Jeanette MacDonald and Deanna Durbin movies and pretty much anything that involved beautifully sung music. Gail was a talented singer herself and studied at the Juilliard School, where she met Orville White, whom she married. They spent time in Italy, St. Louis, MO and Los Angeles, CA. They settled in Austin, TX in 1963. Orville was part of the music faculty at the University of Texas. Orville and Gail enjoyed great friendships and great music that this association brought to them. They divorced in later years but maintained an amicable relationship, often accompanying each other to concerts and getting together for holiday meals with their sons and increasing number of grandchildren. Gail was also a member of the Wednesday Morning Music Club for years and sang in the Unitarian Church Choir and other venues. She led an exercise group at her church and did hula and belly dancing. She also worked at accumulating master points in Bridge. In her last years she developed dementia and became uncommunicative but remained beloved to her sons. She will be missed and remembered with love and fondness. There will a memorial service Saturday, January 9, 2010, 10a.m. at Beck Funeral Home, 4786 Priem Lane, Pflugerville, TX for those who wish to pay their last respects. Graveside services will be held on Monday, 1p.m. at Union Cemetery, Steubenville.
