Eli Mamula, 82, of Richmond, OH went home to our Lord on Monday, July 7, 2008. He was born in Glencoe, OH on March 12, 1926 a son of the late Mele and Cejeta Trbovich Mamula. Eli was a member of Holy Resurrection Serbian Orthodox Church, and was retired from Laborer Local Union 809. He was a member of Richmond American Legion Post 740, graduate of Martins Ferry High School and served in the US Navy during WWII in the Atlantic and Pacific Theatres. Eli was also a great baseball player, playing semi-pro baseball in the Tri-State area. He was also an avid Pittsburgh Steeler and Chicago Cubs fan. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step-mother Stana Ogresevich and numerous brothers and sisters. Eli is survived by his wife Sally Visnic Mamula, whom he married on February 3, 1957 ;son Eli (Eileen) Mamula of Steubenville; sister Ann Horsefeld of California; brothers Nick Mamula of Bridgeville, PA and Charles Mamula of Michigan; grandchildren Sarah and Emma Mamula and Justin Dumbola; many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, OH on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friends may also call from 11a.m. until time of service at Noon on Thursday, July 10, 2008 at Holy Resurrection Church, 530 N. 4th Street, Steubenville, OH with Fr. Rade Merick officiating. Burial at Serbian Cemetery. Pomen service Wednesday 6p.m.
