Eleanor M. Kontra, 78, of Steubenville, Ohio, died Saturday, May 28, 2011 at Trinity West.  She was born December 24, 1932 in Lakewood, Ohio a daughter of the late Michael and Emily Brondos Smerick.  Eleanor was a homemaker and a member of St. Mark Lutheran Church.  Preceding Eleanor in death in 1973 was her husband of 21 years Arthur R. “Bob” Kontra.  Surviving are daughter Debra (Bob) Wilt of Rayland, OH; brother Donald (Joan) Smerick of Medina, OH; two sisters Darlene (Dale) Chenault of Wellsville, OH and Yvonne Smerick of Akron, OH; two grandsons Richard Wilt of Goodlettsville, TN and Daniel (Kimberly) Wilt of Hendersonville, TN; great grandson Brett Wilt of Goodlettsville, TN; four nieces and two nephews.  Friends may call at Dunlope – Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville on Wednesday 6 – 8 p.m. and on Thursday at St. Mark Lutheran Church from 10 a.m. until the time of service at 11 a.m. with Vicar Brian Rosenkoetter officiating.  Burial at Northern Cemetery.
