Effie J. Neff, 76, of Bloomingdale, Ohio died Thursday, October 21, 2010 at Valley Hospice Care Center North. She was born April 15, 1934 in Steubenville, Ohio a daughter of the late Shephard J. and Harriet V. Grimm Raymond. Preceded in death by her husband James M. Neff on February 21, 1995; son Melvin J. Neff; grandson James Kenneth Doty and three sisters Betty, Renee and Kate. Effie was a member of Unionport Christian Church and Mingo Sportsman Club. She was an avid fisherman and loved to crochet. Surviving are her daughters Jeanne McGrew of Bloomingdale, OH and Karen Neff of Steubenville, OH; sister Linda Branlett of Steubenville, OH; five grandchildren Christopher (Norma) McGrew, Robin (Brian) Hare, Maegan (Rick) Gibbons, Donald Doty and Kara Jo Bell-Heck; five step grandchildren and four great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Saturday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. where a funeral service will be held Sunday at 1 p.m. with Rev. Delbert Lash officiating. Burial at New Alexandria Cemetery.
