Edward W. “Ed” Williams, I. 65 of Wintersville, Ohio died Thursday, January 9, 2003 at Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on May 21, 1937 a son of the late John J. and Margaret Savage Williams. He was a member of Zion United Church of Christ and Steubenville Masonic Lodge 45 F&AM. Ed served in the National Guard for eight years and as a Cross Creek Township constable for twelve years. He retired from International Mill Service in 2000 as a truck driver after 21 years of service. Ed was preceded in death by a grandson Joey Kish; two brothers John and Don Williams and two sisters Betty Keenan and Jane Woodrum. Surviving are his wife Shirley J. Kowalsky Williams; three daughters Sherrie Alleman of Wellsburg, WV, Brenda (Gary) Kish-Lash of Steubenville and Gail (Dave) Allen of Cambridge, Ohio; one son Edward W. (Teresa) Williams II of Smithfield, Ohio; one brother Jerry L. (Jo Ann) Williams of Wintersville; two sisters Elaine (John) Hanlin of Wintersville and Jo Ann Moody of Costonia, Ohio; six grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where services will be held at 12:30 p.m. Tuesday with Rev. Thomas Bullard officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville. Lodge 45 services 7:00 p.m. Monday
