Edmund D Bishop (January 29, 1950 - December 7, 2023) passed away peacefully at home after long battles with several health issues. Ed loved golf, playing games, animals, game shows, trivia, sports and fishing; however, nothing brought him more joy than spending time with his family and friends.

Ed was preceded in death by his father Howard, mother Alda (Miller) and favorite Aunt Ruth (Smith). He is survived by his beloved wife of 49 years, Linda Mahling Bishop, and his daughter Laura (Doug) Cieslinski, sister Lila Ruth Williams, as well as many nieces and nephews.
The family would like to thank Amedisys Home Health Care, Hospice, and Palliative Care for their kindness, care, and support over the past 21 months.
Visitation will be at Dunlope Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville on Sunday December 10 from 2-5pm. The funeral will take place on Monday December 11 at 10a.m. with Pastor Mark Statler officiating. Entombment at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.

This Christmas will be a little lonelier without Ed.We would spend Christmas Eve, my sister Donna, myself and anyone else who were in town at the Bishops. We always enjoyed their company, and their hospitality, and Ed's calm, gentle conversations. Ed Bishop was a kind, sweet man. I am sure he is in the blessed arms of our Lord Jesus Christ at this holiday season. My sincere condolences to Linda, Laura and all of Ed's family and friends.🙏

I was saddened to learn of Ed's passing. We have been friends since our days at Springfield High School Class of 1968. We had many fun times together. Ed was an amazing friend, and I appreciated that he always tried to stay in touch with his "old" friends over the years. He loved his family beyond measure, and I know he will be sadly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing him, but especially Linda and Laura. My prayers are with you this Advent season. May knowing he is resting in the arms of his Lord bring you peace.
