Edith M. Howell, 96, of Wintersville passed away on Thursday, January 27, 2022 at her residence. She was born in New Martinsville, WV on May 9, 1925 a daughter of the late Wesley and Alma LeMasters Smith. She was a member of Wintersville United Methodist Church and had worked at Weirton Steel during WWII.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband James G. Howell; grandson James Howell; sisters Wilma, Mary and Dorothy; brothers Dale, Glenn and Ray. Edith is survived by her sons Robert Howell and his significant other Jean of Wintersville, James (Linda) Howell of Wintersville and Thomas (Debi) Howell of Bloomingdale; grandchildren Kristina (Ryan) Holland, Russell Howell, T.J. (Kristy) Howell and Justin Howell; six great grandchildren.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Tuesday from 3-6p.m., where funeral services will be held on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 10a.m. with Rev. Dr. Clint Quillen officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben. Memorial contributions may be made to: Jefferson County Humane Society.
