Obituary For Dr. William S. Butterfield

Dr. William “Bill” S. Butterfield, 55, of Wintersville, Ohio. Bill was born April 26, 1950 IN Mansfield, Ohio. Bill’s life on this Earth ended April 22, 2006. His battle with cancer is over. His victory is in Christ Jesus. Bill was baptized into Christ on September 21, 1997 and was a member of Colliers Way Church of Christ. Bill was a graduate of Kansas City College of Osteopathic Medicine in 1979. He was a family practitioner with Riverside Medical and although he was a physician he knew the greatest healing power came from the Lord. Bill gave time to his community and schools. He was a former member of the Indian Creek School Board, the team physician for Edison and Indian Creek Schools sports teams, and was active in Colliers Way Youth Group. Bill’s warm smile and caring attitude will be missed by all who knew him and his amazing spirit will help carry us through. Preceding Bill in death were his father William John Butterfield and precious Grannie Kelley. Bill is survived by his truly blessed wife of 19 years Linda Day Butterfield; son and best buddy Zeb; daughter Nicole (Ryan) Allison; first grandchild Owen Allison; mother Maybelle Anderson Butterfield; mom & dad Jack & Wilma Day; brother Pat (Rose) Butterfield; sister Ann Riedinger; brothers Bruce (Susan) Day, W.J. (Cheryl) Miller and Marvin Miller; uncle Tom (Mary Ellen) Anderson; uncle John Anderson; special friend John Kane; 13 nieces and nephews Amy & Rus Wallace, Steven Butterfield, Rusty, Chrislin, Emma Anne, & Clinton Mobley, Jeremy Day, Ryan Mobley, Reid Mobley, Timothy Butterfield, Reagan Mobley and Anna Grace Miller; lifetime friends Ron Wyss, Robert & Linda Daily, and Randy Owens; an abundant number of caring patients; and loving family at Colliers Way Church of Christ. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Monday 7-9 and Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Friends may call at Colliers Way Church of Christ on Wednesday from 10:30 a.m until time of services at 11:30 a.m. with Evangelist Paul Moore, Sr. and Minister Aaron Arthaud officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be directed to Mid-Western Children’s Home, 4585 Long-Spurling Rd., Pleasant Plain, OH 45162.
