Obituary For Dr. Thomas J. Manack

Dr. Thomas J. Manack, 70, of Steubenville, Ohio died Sunday, June 8, 2008 at his home.  He was born April 22, 1938 in Steubenville, Ohio a son of the late Nicholas M. and Agnes E. Quinn Manack.  He was preceded in death by his brother John Manack.  Thomas was a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church now Triumph of the Cross.  He was Executive Director of Jefferson County Board of Mental Health, Alcohol and Drug Addiction Division; Chairman of the Department of Sociology at the College of Steubenville and the former Executive Director of Family Services Association.  Surviving are his sister Anita Gargala of Wintersville, OH and several nephews and nieces.  Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m.  Funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated Wednesday 10 a.m. at Holy Name Cathedral with Rev. Timothy McGuire and Rev. Leonard Cencula officiating.  Burial at Mt. Calvary.  Memorial donations may be directed to Triumph of the Cross, Building Fund, PO Box 908, Steubenville, OH 43952.

    I was very sorry to read about Dr. Manack's death. He helped my husband and myself adopt our children many years ago. He was always a caring, considerate and helpful person. He will be missed in the community.

    Anita, I am sorry to hear of Tom's passing away. He was a good friend , one that I enjoyed a lot of laughs with when we were making the New Alexandria grade school into a rehab center. He was a very nice guy . I wish you well in this misery you have to gpo thru. Jim

    Aunt Anita- I wish I could be down there. I emailed Tom our last Email. I didn't know Tom very long but it sure was a great experience. He helped me through my Cancer times & I hope that I was able to do the same for him. If you ever need any help, that you can't get, please don't hesitate to call Us. We will make it there some how. Loves' to you & prayers for TOM. He is truly a "TOD".

What a blessing it was for us to have the chance to meet and especially to serve such a remarkable man in our lifetime. May God be with you at this time of grief.
