Dear Powell Family: My family and I were shocked and very sad to hear about Doug. I will always remember him as a teenager who was like a brother in our family. I saw him almost every day. As Barbara DeFebbo shared, and my mom and I just talked about, our growing up was a wonderful time. We were very blessed to grow up at that time in such a wonderful neighborhood with great people, and Doug will always be part of those memories. Again, I am very sorry for your loss.

Lucas, Judge Powell, Kim & Sue, I am heartsick and deeply saddened by the passing of Doug. He always was such a great friend, there when you needed him. It didn't matter if you saw him the day before or a year later, he made you feel special. We could talk about anything and he loved to make you laugh. Doug will be sorely missed by many as he was a great person and loved by all. We are all mourning our dear friend. Due to a new position's probationary period, I am unable to come to pay my respect. However, please know that you have my deepest sympathy and my thoughts and prayers are with you during this very difficult time. Robin Lutz Darrow

Dear Mr. Powell, Susan and Kim, I am sorry Doug passed so early in life. We became friends and roommates when we started our college years at Ohio University in Athens. We became great friends and he was always so kind to everyone. Got a chance to spend some time with him in Steubenville a few years ago, like we never missed a beat. Doug always made me feel like part of the family during that time as well as Mr. and Mrs. Powell Susan and Kim. I am so grateful for those times and memories. May God bless Doug and watch over and bless your families during this time. John Afek

My Dear Judge Powell & Family: Please accept our deep, solemn, condolences. Words alone can not describe the absolute sorrow and shock we have regarding your loss in Doug's passing. Have known Doug since HS; always friendly, always spoke, always waved as he drove by. A fine son, friend, and father, who can rest in eternal peace with all God's love and mercy. I'm saddened that I have been unable to extend my personal regards regarding this difficult time, but please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers. May God Bless and carry you during this most trying time. Bill - Robin & Family

Judge Powell, Susan and family. We were so sorry to learn about Doug. We were away on vacation and unable to get to the funeral home. Fortunately for us, we ran into him about 10 days before he died after not seeing him for a while. We had the best time catching up and talking just like the old days and like no time had passed at all. We will miss him and his quick wit and wonderful sense of humor. God bless him and all of you. You are in our thoughts and prayers. Miss seeing you too Judge. Suzie and Mike
