Dorothy J. Rose Uhlich 83 of Steubenville, OH died Wednesday, November 19, 2003 at her home of natural causes. She was born in East Liverpool, OH on September 6, 1920 a daughter of the late Rev. J. Harper and Lottie VanAllen Rose. She was a founding member of Calvary Pentecostal Church, Steubenville. She retired in 1989 from The Prudential Life Insurance Company, where she worked as a secretary and also taught at the former Steubenville Business College. She was preceded in death by her husband John F. Uhlich, whom she married February 9, 1945, brother Paul William Rose and sister Ella May Stark. She is survived by a daughter Barbara (William) Morris of Steubenville, granddaughters Barbara (Jeromy) Hoffee of St. Louis, MO and Rachel Jean Friend of Steubenville, brother Rev. J. Hugh (Nila) Rose of Cadiz, OH, sisters Edith Pickering of Jewett, OH and Martha Banta of Fort Worth, TX, a host of nephews, nieces and cousins. Friends may call on Sunday from 5-9p.m. at Calvary Pentecostal Church, 255 North Fifth Street, Steubenville, and on Monday from 10 a.m. until time of services at 11a.m. with Pastor M. John Kotsanos officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville. Memorial contributions may be made to The Dorothy R. Uhlich Memorial Fund @ Calvary Pentecostal Church. Arrangements by Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville.
