Dorothy J. Wells, 97, of Steubenville, Ohio died Thursday, September 19, 2019 at Weirton Medical Center. She was born in Columbus, Ohio on July 26, 1922 a daughter of the late Max & Emma Campbell Gorsuch. Dorothy was a member of LaBelle View Church of Christ; Town & Country Golf League; Prime Time; Jefferson County Historical Society; D.A.R.; Order of Eastern Star; Leisure Club Quilters; and the last graduating class of Wells High School. She had worked in retail sales over the years.
Preceding Dorothy in death were her husband, Robert R. Wells; son-in-law Merle Farnsworth; and two sisters Hannah (Kenneth) Gilcrest & Doris (Mitch) Boich.
Dorothy is survived by her children, Jennie Farnsworth of Beverly, OH, Janet (Larry) McDaniel of Thornville, OH, Paul “Mick” (Cindi) Wells & Scott (Cheryl “Sherri”) Wells both of Wintersville, OH; four grandchildren Jeannie Farnsworth, Jeff (Jodi) McDaniel, Jayna (Mike) Treen & Edward Farnsworth; eight grandchildren Jasmine Lucas, Charles, Catalino & Raphael Farnsworth, Leah Cook, Scott McDaniel, Paul & Davey Treen; life-long friend Billie Miller of Winston-Salem, NC; several nieces & nephews.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Sunday 1-3 p.m.; where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Minister Tom Arehart officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery.
