Dear Ed, Greg, and Mr. Giles, I am very sorry for your loss. I still have so many fond memories of my high school band days, knowing that Mrs. Giles (the best band mom EVER) was there for us for anything we needed. You are all in my thoughts and prayers. Susan

Mike, Ed & Greg Growing up in the neighbor hood your home was like my second home. Oh the memories I have especially one in particular, when Deb broke her arm when we were riding bikes I'll never forget walking in the house & the look on Dorthy's face as she calmly just said we need to go to the hospital, and you opening your home for us to wait for the school bus before we had to walk to the end of the lane to catch the bus. Oh the special memories, and also the hardest memory of all was the momment of walking into your home upon learning of Deb's untimely death. I enjoyed over the years stopping by & talking with you about some of those memories & keeping up on what Ed & Greg are doing. I remember my last visit with you & Dorthy this summer sitting on your porch & talking with Dorthy, & for a few brief momments she seemed so aware of time & place. My prayers are with the family as you go thru another difficult time. Mary Beth

Mr. Giles and Eddie and Greg please know that you and your family are in my thoughts and prayers. I will always remember our time together as neighbors in Speakers Addition. Your mom took care of me many times. I remember the time I got my foot caught in the bicycle spokes and she put me back together with methiolate and bandaids. She was always caring and patient with us neighborhood kids. I miss you and hope you are well - Rose

Mike, since we spend much of our time in Florida, we haven't seen you or Dorothy for years. But we won't forget the good times we used to have together. Didn't know she was sick. You and your family are in our prayers.

Dear Mike and family, Unaware that Dorothy was ill, I was surprised to read the obituary online in the Herald Star. I've known Dorothy for many years, back to the '40's when we previously both attended Calvary Methodist Church. She will be missed by you and your family, but also by many who know of her involvement with the SHS Alumni Assoc. and especially by our Big Red class of 1952 and her work for the reunions. My prayers go out to you and I'm sure the many years of sharing your lives together will provide you with wonderful memories. Sincerely, Kay Lisle Haines www.klislehaines@aol.com Raleigh, NC
