Dorothy E. “Dottie” Birch, 80 of Altoona, Florida formerly of Bergholz, Ohio died Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Florida Waterman Hospital. She was born July 20, 1935 in Steubenville, Ohio a daughter of the late Theodore & Florence Wright Rinehart. Dottie was a dedicated member of Bay Street Baptist Church in Eustis, Florida and prior to moving to Florida was the organist and pianist at Wintersville Church of Christ for many years. She was a 1953 graduate of Steubenville High School. Dottie was a generous individual who enjoyed golf, travel and spending time with her family. Preceding Dottie in death were her son Mark D. Birch and daughter Gerri L. Machnicki; sister Mary Morris; and brothers Theodore, Jr. and Robert Rinehart.
Dottie is survived by her husband Robert D. Birch, whom she married on June 20, 1953 and granddaughter Allison Machnicki of State College, PA.
Friends may call at Fort Steuben Burial Estates Chapel on Friday, June 10, 2016 from 12:30p.m. until time of service at 1:30p.m.
Entombment at Fort Steuben.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to American Heart Association OR a charity of the donor’s choice.
