Obituary For Dorothy Ada Spurrier

Dorothy Ada Schockow Spurrier, 83, of Unionport passed away on Friday, May 14, 2021 at Meadows of Cadiz. She was born in Steubenville on April 1, 1938 a daughter of the late Thomas and Grace Feist Schockow. Dorothy lived her whole life in Unionport, OH and had worked at the Fraternal Order of Eagles for 25 years, where she held many offices. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years James D. Spurrier; sister Nancy Bishop and granddaughter Tiffany Carder. Dorothy is survived by her son Charles J. (Sherry) Spurrier and daughters Marlena J. Montgomery (Mikel Ivey) and Elizabeth M. Cochran; brothers Joseph T. (Doreen) Schockow and Albert (Susan) Schockow; grandchildren Gregory Virtue, Daniel Cochran, Ashley (Chris) Berg, Malissa (Jon) Short, Brandon (Amanda) Montgomery, Marina (Josh) Jolly and Todd Carder; great grandchildren Madison Lacko, Trevor McFarland, Gavin Berg, Emmett Short, Clyde Short, Casey Short and Charlotte Montgomery. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Monday from 4-7p.m., where funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 18, 2021, 10a.m. Burial at Unionport Cemetery.

Grandma was such a beautiful soul inside and out. She cared deeply for all of our family. She never missed a birthday or holiday card and making everyone feel special. She was so caring and nurturing to all. I will treasure all of our Memories she was a big part of my life during my childhood. Rest in peace I hope you and grandpa are dancing to your country music in heaven.
