Dorothy A. Thomas, 85, of Bloomingdale, OH died Tuesday, May 28, 2013 at Sienna Woods Nursing Center. She was born in Richmond, OH on June 12, 1927 a daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Barrett Rogers. Dorothy was a member of Wintersville United Methodist Church and Belvedere Volunteer Fire Department Auxiliary. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her 1st husband Allen Hammer, 2nd husband Howard L. Thomas; brothers Russell, Charles, Richard, Jack and Ronald Rogers; sister Betty Rose; step grandson Eric Thomas; step great grandson Christopher Vandeborne. Dorothy is survived by her daughters Linda (Henry) Vandeborne of Dellroy, OH and Cindy Jordan of Bloomingdale, OH; son Allen “Mike” Hammer of Steubenville, OH; step children Carol (Kenny) Marshall of Burgettstown, OH, Robert (Cathy) Thomas of N. Ridgeville, OH, William Thomas of Follansbee, WV and Patricia (John) Murphy of Phoenix, AZ; 8 grandchildren, 10 step grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren and 1 great great granddaughter and numerous nieces and nephews Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Wednesday from 5-8p.m., where funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at 12:30p.m. with Rev. Clint Quillen officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.

Mike, I will not be able to get in there this evening but wanted to offer condolences to you. I have many fond memories of your mother between the fire house and Boy Scouts.
