Obituary For Donna L. Diequez

Donna L. Diequez, 85, of Steubenville, Ohio passed away Friday, December 1, 2017 surrounded by her family at Allegheny General Hospital. She was the wife of Benjamin Diequez. She was born December 3, 1931 in Columbus, OH a daughter of the late Charles and Leila McNeal. She was also preceded in death by her brother Roy L. McNeal. Donna was a life-long member of St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, where she served as a Sunday School teacher and as a and as a volunteer for 32 years at the Courtyard Shoppe. She worked at the former Montgomery Ward and W.T. Grant department stores. She was a 1949 graduate of Steubenville High School. Donna was a lover of her family, church and books.

Donna is survived by her husband of 64 years, Benjamin Diequez, whom she married on November 6, 1953; daughter Suzanne (James) Diequez-Kimmel; son Douglas B. Diequez and two special nephews Joseph Diequez III & Benjamin Louis Diequez.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Monday from 9 a.m. until the time of services at 11 a.m. with Fr. Steven McKeown officiating. Private burial for the family to follow at Fort Steuben. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to St. Paul’s Episcopal Church or The Public Library of Steubenville and Jefferson County.

    I met Donna only a short time ago. She was always so lovely; beautiful inside and out. I will miss seeing you, but will never forget you. May God bless Ben, Suzanne, Jim, and the rest of your family in this very sad time. Donna is looking down from heaven.
