Donald R. Mayers 84 of Worthington, OH formerly of Steubenville, OH died Wednesday, November 13,2002 at Riverside Hospital, Columbus, OH. He was born in Steubenville on January 28, 1918 a son of the late Ray and Jean Holroyd Mayers. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. and was an independent Star Route Contractor with the U.S. Post Office. Donald was a disabled veteran of WWII serving in the Burma Theater as a medic with the 151 sl Medical Battalion. He was preceded in death by two brothers Wilson and Charles Mayers and two sisters Wanda Robert and Eleanor Carmack. Surviving are his wife of 61 years Martha Fleming Mayers; two sons Donald R. (Elizabeth) Mayers, Jr. of Mountaintop, PA and David (Elizabeth) Mayers of Wilmington, OH; three daughters Marjorie Mayers and Susan Mayers of Worthington, OH and Bobbi (Benton) Wilmoth of Marysville, OH; four grandchildren Sandra, David, Benton and Katherine and three great granddaughters; one brother David Mayers and one sister Naomi Hunt. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at      11 :30 a.m. in the funeral home chapel with Tom Arehart officiating.
