Donald E. Sinclair, 81, of Wintersville, Ohio passed from Earth to Heaven early Monday morning, March 19, 2012. He was born June 14, 1930 in Steubenville, Ohio a son of the late Carl and Ethel Lahosky Sinclair. After graduating from Steubenville Big Red, Don joined the work force for a short while before enlisting in the Navy. He was a humble Korean War veteran. Upon returning he worked as a carpenter before joining the US Postal Service. Don built his own house and when it became too small he added a second floor. Don was a proud retired postal worker who loved every day and everyone on his route. As his Alzheimers progressed, he slowly forgot names but could always tell you where you lived. After retirement he loved to build and repair clocks. Don was a master craftsman and even his grandchildren called him “Pappa Cuckoo”. If anyone needed help he never said no. He was a pious member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church. Don rejoins those who preceded him in death, his loving wife Alice M. Green Sinclair, whom departed nearly 15 years ago; sister Frances Ashmead and daughter Ann Sinclair. His most loving legacy leaves his daughters Lori (Basil) Kochan of Uniontown, OH, Mary (Albert) Vautour of Columbus, OH and Amy Sinclair of Pataskala, OH; son Don (Dianne) Sinclair of Davenport, FL; sister Martha Feist of Steubenville, OH; two sisters-in-law Barbara Green of Toronto, OH and Blanche Green of Virginia and seven grandchildren Sarah (Cole), Andrew, Emily, Evan, Jared, Luke and Troy with endless treasured memories and lessons to live by. All of his special nieces, nephews, neighbors and friends will miss him dearly, but know that today he rejoices with the angels for all of eternity. Well done good and faithful servant! Friends may call at Dunlope - Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Wednesday 2 – 4 & 6 – 8 p.m. Funeral liturgy with mass will be celebrated Thursday 10 a.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church with Msgr. Kurt Kemo as celebrant. Burial at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Memorial donations may be directed to St. Vincent DePaul Society, 852 Main Street, Wintersville, OH 43953 or Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 1521 Bantam Ridge Road, Wintersville, OH 43953.

Dear Mary,Lori,Don,and Amy - I was so sorry to hear of your father's death. Although my brother, sister, cousins and I only spent a brief time visiting your father a couple of years ago, it was a wonderful visit reminiscing about the Miller and Sinclair clans. Whenever he smiled his face just lit up the room. He will be with us in all the good memories we have. You and the family will be in our prayers. Love, Charlotte Miller Keenan, Chuck Miller, Mary Miller Trout (deceased), cousins Fran Miller Griffin, Pamela Miller Johnson (grandchildren of Charles and Agnes Sinclair Miller)

Dear Lori, Donnie, Mary, Amy, grandchildren: Want to offer my regrets on your father's / grandfather's death. It may be coincidence (or not) that Don died on St. Joseph's feast day...two examples of great parents! I'll always remember Don for his positive outlook, no matter what life threw at him...a good man. God bless you and yours always, Bud Green

Don will ever be forgotten. I have never known a more honest, righteous great person. Uncle Don was like a big brother to me,I learned a great deal from him. And can honestly say we never had harsh words for each other. To Lori,Don,Mary and Amy your Dad is where he has wanted to be, with your Mother. May they rest in peace together. I'm very sorry I cant be there for the services. Adios Don, your nephew Jim.

Amy and Mary and family: My deepest sympathies. I am sorry that I have to work and cannot make the viewing or the mass. Please know that both Douglas and I send our prayers your way. I have fond memories of your dad. He was always proud of all of his children and always smiling, esp when he was at Stambaugh's. God Bless. Suzanne Diequez-Kimmel
