Donald E. Farmer 76 of Mingo Junction, OH died Saturday, September 27, 2003 at Lancia Villa Royale, Steubenville. He was born in Steubenville on September 5, 1927 the son of the late Edwin and Florence Firster Farmer. Preceded in death by a daughter, Sandra Dee Appeldorn and two brothers, John and Roger Farmer. Donald retired from National Steel-Weirton Division as a boilermaker with 38 years of service. He was a member of First United Presbyterian Church, Mingo Junction. Veteran of United States Navy as Boatswain’s Mate First Class with nine and a half years of service, participating in the Pacific Theater during W.W.II and the Korean Conflict, during which time he received numerous medals and decorations. Memberships: Steubenville Loyal Order of Moose Lodge #619, Past Deputy Supreme Governor. Steubenville Pilgrim Lodge #691 and was mason of the year 2002. Steubenville Shrine Club, Past President 1993. Kentucky Colonels of Aladdin Temple, Columbus, OH. Ohio River Council #63 Knight Masons. Steubenville Motor Patrol, Steubenville Shrine. Steubenville Scottish and York Rite Bodies. American Legion Argonne Post #33, Steubenville. Ohio Council of Fraternal Veteran and Service Organization, Inc., Past President 1992-1993. Twelve year member of Moose State Golf Committee. Avid bowler and team captain with Steubenville Moose in the Weirton Bowling League. Past officer of Steubenville Beagle Club. Pinecrest Hunting club, Past President and Secretary Sinnamahonning, PA. List survivors in following order. Family request. Surviving is his wife Joyce E. Newman Clifton Farmer at home. children; Donna A. Current and her husband Dr. James V. of Bloomingdale, OH. Charles E. Farmer of Memphis, TN. Charles S. Clifton and Laurie of Mingo Junction. Carol Ann Haines and her husband David of Mingo Junction. Patricia L. Farmer of Steubenville. Timothy L Clifton and his wife Holly of Steubenville. Brandi E. Farmer of McDermott, OH. Two brothers, Paul Farmer and his wife Ethel of Earl Park, IN and Robert Farmer of Mingo. One sister, Nadine J. Stillwell and her husband James of Walnut Creek, CA. Five grandchildren and Three great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Hoff-Shorac Funeral Home, 235 Clifton Avenue, Mingo Junction on Monday from 7-9 and Tuesday from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Additional visitation from 10 till the time of funeral services at 11 a.m. at First United Presbyterian Church, Mingo Junction. Rev. Michael Bongart to officiate. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates, Wintersville. American Legion Argonne Post #33 to conduct military services at the gravesite. In lieu of flowers family requests memorial contributions directed to Shriners Crippled Children’s Hospital or donor’s choice. Pilgrim Shrine service Monday at 7:30 p.m. and Masonic Lodge #691 service Tuesday 7:30 p.m.
