Donald A. “Don” Albaugh, age 93, of Mingo Junction, died Friday, December 20, 2013 at Valley Hospice North. He was born July 19, 1920 in Steubenville the son of the late Wilda Virtue Crossley. He was preceded in death by his wife Jean Stephenson Albaugh whom he married on April 25, 1946. Don retired from Weirton Steel as a claims manager and a 25 year club member. He was a member of First Christian Church of Steubenville and Steubenville Masonic Lodge #45. He graduated from Steubenville High School and continued his education at Marietta College where he received a bachelor’s of science degree; veteran of WWII serving in the Army Air Corp. Don was an avid golfer at Spring Hills Golf Course and enjoyed bowling with the All American and Steel Valley Leagues.He is survived by two sons Bob (Barbara) Albaugh of Mingo Junction and William “Bill” (Suzanne) Albaugh of Steubenville; two granddaughters Kelly (Bob) Lamantia and Sarah Albaugh and great grandson Robert Lamantia.Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville on Sunday from 4 – 8p.m., where funeral services will be held on Monday at 10 a.m. Burial in Fort Steuben, where the Ohio Valley Veterans Memorial Squad will accord military honors. Memorial contributions may be directed to Valley Hospice.
