Dixie L. Christy, 86, of Bloomingdale, Ohio passed away on February 18, 2025 at Weirton Medical Center. Dixie was born September 19, 1938 in Brilliant, Ohio a daughter of the late Gerald R. & Tomye Hayes Thorne.
She was the retired owner & operator of Dixie’s Laundromat in Toronto, Ohio. Dixie loved horses. She operated Circle M Ranch, training horses for racing mostly at Mountaineer Race Track. She was a 4H leader for many years.
Dixie loved Jesus and her family. She was a loving grandmother to Carley & Dane. Her favorite time was hosting holiday gatherings for family and friends.
Dixie is preceded in death by her only child Sherry Mynster Martin and siblings Nina Thorne McCartney & Richard L. Thorne, Sr.
She is survived by her loving husband of 34 years Donald L. Christy; grandchildren Carley & Dane Martin; stepdaughters Amy, Dawn Marie & Rhonda and their children Jonathan, Ariel, Calen & Mirayna; beloved niece Tawny Secula; sister Shirley A. Mitchell & great niece Nina Knight and beloved nephew Danny Thorne.
Per Dixie’s wishes, there will be no services. Inurnment at Unionport Cemetery.
