Obituary For Dino D. Vallera

Dino D. Vallera, 76, of Steubenville, Ohio died Saturday, February 8, 2014 at Valley Hospice North. He was born April 18, 1937 in Steubenville a son of the late Rocco & Anna Farfella Vallera. Dino retired from Kroger Co. after 43 years of service, having worked in the Wellsburg, downtown Weirton and Steubenville and most recently at Hollywood Plaza markets. Preceding Dino in death were two brothers Joseph & Raymond Vallera.Dino is survived by his wife Patricia A. Dimitro Vallera; children Paul Vallera & Renee Vallera and her husband Cliff Ward; his two grandsons whom he loved and adored Justin & Jordan Mavromatis; and siblings Orlando Vallera & Mary Petrozzi. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home on Thursday from 1 p.m. until time of services at 4 p.m. with Msgr. Gerald E. Calovini officiating.The family expresses their sincere gratitude to their friends, neighbors and Dr. John Figel and the Valley Hospice Staff and desires memorials be directed to Valley Hospice, Inc., 380 Summit Ave., Steubenville, OH 43952

    I worked with Dino at the downtown Weirton Kroger store around 1987-1989. I'll never forget him training me to fill in for him in the dairy dept. He was always kind to me and I'll never forget that! May he rest in peace.... Chris Greco

    Patty,Renee,Paul and family my deepest sympathies and prayers during this difficult time. It seems like just yesterday Dino was critiquing my skills in the Kroger dairy. I will always cherish those days as well as all others with him in and out of work. Godspeed Dino My utmost respect -joe
