Diana Jeanne Quillen, 79, of East Canton and Wintersville, passed peacefully at home in the presence of her children after a valiant battle with leukemia.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Rosemarie Mitchell, her sister Judy Scott, and the love of her life, Bob Amato. She is survived by her four children, Kelly Hill, Clint (Ann) Quillen, Kathleen (Chas) Thomas, Christine (Lars) Ensign, 15 grandchildren, 27 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great-grandchildren, 2 nephews, and many other dear relatives and friends. She was anticipating the arrival of 2 more great-grandchildren in the coming months. She was the proud matriarch of a growing five-generation family.
Diana retired from the Ford Motor Company where she worked as an electrician. She was an active member of the Wintersville United Methodist Church where her son, Rev. Dr. Clint Quillen, is the pastor.
Throughout her life, Diana loved playing games and having adventures. From hitting it over the fence in a softball game to playing in the World Series of Poker to leading hours-long family game nights, Diana was fun-loving to the end. She was always ready for the next adventure: she travelled the world, went white-water rafting and rode the Millennium at Cedar point with her great grandson weeks before her leukemia diagnosis.
She lived life to the fullest. She was a fierce and faithful advocate for her friends and family. Her generosity, forgiveness and industriousness were an example to everyone who knew her. She was happiest when she was being of service to those she loved. She leaves a legacy of hard work, loyalty and love.

I only met her a couple times but she was a dynamo and treated me like we'd been friends forever. She helped mentor me on game night at the Quillens which is not for the faint of heart. Diana was a great lady. My condolences to all the family

I just wanted to say that Diane's love for her family showed every day of her life. Her smile and her laughter were infectious and her love for you was beyond any words that I can express. One of Diane's hobbies was gambling, however, her life was all about her family. I will never forget what a great friend she became to me. We both had a love of poker And would meet each other at a poker game. She was always rooting for me and I was always rooting for her. She was truly a gift from heaven when God put her on this earth. There was no doubt what her mission in life was and she fulfilled that mission like a true champion. Throughout our lives we see and hear about people who are portrayed as heroes, however, the true heroes in life are the people like Diane Quillen. She is the hero that no one ever read about in the paper Or heard about on the news. She was the unsung hero who just went about her life being a positive role model for everyone who knew her and dedicated her life to taking care of her family. It was truly an honor to have had Diane in my life. She was a servant of God and there is no doubt that she is rejoicing in heaven right now for all the good she did while here on earth. I can see her in heaven now, crossing over the finish line, like a runner after completing a marathon and getting high-fives from everyone for a fantastic job. What a wonderful person!!! You will be greatly missed Diana but what a wonderful gift it was to have you on earth And to have you as a friend of mine. What a wonderful memorial and remembrance your family had for you. You left your mark on many!

Aunt Diana: I will never forget all of the wonderful family times spent with all of you! So many pop-in visits at your home in East Canton, Family Reunions at Hutch and Grandma Quillen's, times on my dad's boat, picnics at the park in East Canton, picking and eating cherries 🍒 from the Cherry tree in your back yard, eating corn on the cob.....running into you at the grocery store on RT 62, and attending birthday parties for my cousins and watching Frosty the snowman at Christmas with my cousins (my dad snuck us over for that...my mother would have protested, as a JW). You and Uncle Clint always made my me and brothers feel so welcome and treated us as if we were your own! You were a wonderful Aunt and I will always treasure our time together! Sending extra love and prayers to my cousins. Love you all😘💕🙏🏼🌷

Diana always liked going to Las Vegas so one day a few years ago I gave her a tee shirt with that logo on it. She was so happy to receive it. She always had a smile when I saw her in church. Many will miss her 🙏🙏🙏❤️

Diana was so much fun. Just listening to her stories would keep you laughing. We would play cards and she took that very serious. Lol. Honestly if you had Diane as a friend you also got her beautiful family. We will never forget you. Dennis and Debbie and Virginia

Our family moved back to East Canton in 2003 on Liberty St about 3 blocks from Diana. I saw her at the store and to!d her how we were getting the new house ready to move and she asked if she could do anything to help. Most people say that and it is just a platitude. Not Diana! I told her that we were painting and cleaning and moving in a few days. Wouldn't you know she showed up at our door with a bucket and rags and helped us clean! We had lots of laughs doing a not so fun job that day. What a treasure! She was always a kind and generous person to us. She will be missed.
