Denzil R. Hoover 85 of Wintersville, Ohio died Thursday, November 13, 2003 in the emergency room at Trinity West. He was born in Bellaire, Ohio on November 17, 1917 a son of the late Earl and Icel Braden Hoover. He was a retired employee of National Steel Corp. Tin Mill Steubenville Plant and a member of Zion United Church of Christ; Pilgrim Lodge 691 F &AM and Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville. Denzil was an avid golfer and bowler. Denzil is survived by his wife Mary Miller Hoover; his daughter Carol L. (Virgil G.) Rabe of Wintersville; two sisters Geraldine (John) Labanics and Betty (Joseph) Nocera both of Steubenville; two granddaughters Jody (Larry Allen) Pownall and Kimberly (Brandt) Stover both of Steubenville; and eight great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. Tom Bullard officiating.
