Denzil R. Hoover 85 of Wintersville, Ohio died Thursday, November 13, 2003 in the emergency room at Trinity West. He was born in Bellaire, Ohio on November 17, 1917 a son of the late Earl and Icel Braden Hoover. He was a retired employee of National Steel Corp. Tin Mill Steubenville Plant and a member of Zion United Church of Christ; Pilgrim Lodge 691 F &AM and Scottish Rite Valley of Steubenville. Denzil was an avid golfer and bowler. Denzil is survived by his wife Mary Miller Hoover; his daughter Carol L. (Virgil G.) Rabe of Wintersville; two sisters Geraldine (John) Labanics and Betty (Joseph) Nocera both of Steubenville; two granddaughters Jody (Larry Allen) Pownall and Kimberly (Brandt) Stover both of Steubenville; and eight great grandchildren. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Sunday 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday with Rev. Tom Bullard officiating. Entombment at Union Cemetery, Steubenville. Memorial contributions may be made to Zion United Church of Christ. Masonic Services 3 p.m. Sunday
