Obituary For Dean L. Pops Sells

Dean Lyle “Pops” Sells, 74, of Wintersville, Ohio went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, July 12, 2005. He passed away at Shadyside Hospital in Pittsburgh. He was born in New Alexandria, Ohio on February 25, 1931 to the late Roy and Margaret Thompson Sells, Sr. Pops was a retired maintenance department foreman from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel; member of Colonial Baptist Church and Wintersville American Legion Post 557. He was a Marine veteran of the Korean Conflict. Preceding Pops in death were his wife Catherine Rose “Katy” Butta Sells on August 12, 2004; one brother Roy Sells, Jr. and one sister Dorothy Pomento. Pops was dearly loved by his children, grandchildren and family who include Rev. Randy (Debra) Sells of Wintersville; daughters Deborah (Rev. Jeffrey) Bailie of Cranberry Township, PA and Jayna (Rev. Leonard) Peeler of New Cumberland, WV; grandchildren Natalie Collier, Adam Bailie, Matthew, Andrew and Daniel Sells, Chad, Benjamin and Courtney Peeler; two great grandchildren Titus and Priscilla Collier; one brother Raymon* (Joyce) Sells of Surprise, Arizona; numerous nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Colonial Baptist Church, 201 Gumps Lane, Wintersville, Ohio on Friday 1-4 and 6-9 p.m. and on Saturday from 10:30 a.m. until time of services at 11 a.m. with Revs. Randy Sells, Jeffrey Bailie, Leonard Peeler and Adam Bailie officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben Burial Estates. Memorial contributions may be made to the Colonial Baptist Church.
