David W. Daily, 87, of Wintersville, OH passed away Sunday January 28, 2024 at Valley Hospice in Steubenville, Ohio. Dave was born a son of the late George and Ruth Daily on February 3, 1936. Dave was preceded in death by his brother Jack Daily; daughter-in-law Cathy Daily; sister-in-law Susan Daily and stepmother Mary Lucille Daily.
Dave was the founder and co-owner of Daily & Daily Masonry with his brother Jack in 1955. He then continued his construction career with Glenn Wells Construction and finally retired from John Russell Construction in 1998. One of his many accomplishments was to help lead the 1951, 1952, & 1953 Wintersville Warriors football team to 3 consecutive undefeated seasons.
Dave leaves behind his loving wife of 66 years Patricia (Pat) Daily and three sons, Dan (Laura) Daily of Cadiz Ohio; Don Daily of Parker CO; Doug (Cindy) Daily of Rancho Santa Margarita CA. Six grandchildren Chris (Andrea) Daily of Murrells Inlet, SC; Shannon Daily of Oxford MS; Sarah (Jake) Steimer of Tucson AZ; Lauren (Chase) Wheeler of Aurora CO; Nick Daily of San Antonio Tx; Alex Daily of Corona Del Mar CA. Sister Carol (Rich) Edgerly; brothers Jim (Mary) Daily and George Daily; sisters-in-law Carol Daily and Mary Beth Allan.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Friday from 4 pm to 7pm then on Saturday at Starkdale Presbyterian Church, 4600 Sunset Blvd., Steubenville, Ohio from 10:00 am until the time of service at 11:00 am with Rev. Carl Moore officiating. A luncheon for the celebration of Dave’s life will follow the church service in the church fellowship hall.
Dave was a lifelong member of Starkdale Presbyterian Church, In lieu of flowers please make a memorial donation to the church or a favorite charity of your choice.
