David W. Buchanan, 76, of Bloomingdale, OH died Saturday, March 21, 2015 at Tavares Hospice House in Florida. He was born October 4, 1938 in Paulding, OH a son of the late O.W. Buchanan & Verna Gillespie Buchanan Hutton. In 1998 he retired from Carpenters Local 186 of which he is a 52 year member. David was a Boy Scout Troop Master sponsored by Belvedere Fire Dept. and a 15 year volunteer at the fire department. Preceding David in death were his son D. Neil Buchanan and infant daughter Cynthia Jean.
He is survived by his wife Nancy J. Campbell Buchanan , whom he married December 11, 1955; daughters Brenda (John A. III) Humpe of Bloomingdale & Linda Toribio of Orlando, FL; three grandchildren John Anthony Humpe IV, Eric William Toribio & Rosalynda Maria Toribio; great grandson Eric Raymond Toribio; brother Rev. John I.E. (Kathryn) Buchanan of Willoughby, OH; and sister Nancy E. (Larry) Thomas of Findlay, OH.
Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville, OH, on Wednesday 1-3 & 6-8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9:30 a.m. until the time of service at 10 a.m. with Pastor Frank H. Rogers officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.
