Obituary For David D. Krause

David D. Krause, 74, of Wintersville, Ohio passed away unexpectedly Monday, May 25, 2020 at Trinity West ER. He was born February 28, 1946 in Massillon, Ohio a son of the late Michael & Mary Jane Gotch Krause. He earned his Bachelors Degree from The Ohio State University. Dave had several careers during his lifetime; a metallurgist at Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp., a teacher in the Indian Creek School District and finally as a licensed agent for CUNA and New York Life. He was Lutheran by faith and a member of Toronto Seniors & the Funseekers (serving as assistant tour guide).

Dave enjoyed working in his workshop, fishing, crossword puzzles and jigsaw puzzles. Most importantly, he cherished the time with his grandsons.

Dave is survived by his wife, Karen A. Kasper Krause; son David E. (Joni) Krause; daughter Kimberly A. (Erin) Kossack; grandsons Levi David Kossack & Kristian Thomas Kossack; siblings Don Krause, Patricia Hanson, Linda Forte & Jon Krause.

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all services are private.

Entombment at Fort Steuben.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to a charity of the donor’s choice.

    Mr Krause was my favorite high school teacher. He pushed me academically and was just fun to be around. I'm so sorry to hear of his passing.

    We have known David and family for many years. All are good people . Although David and I exchanged opinions on different subjects, he always remained a gentleman and was willing to listen to different ideas. He will be greatly missed.     My sincere sympathy to Karen and family. As an Indian Creek school secretary I had the pleasure of seeing and talking to Dave often when he visited his clients in the buildings. He was always so kind and polite. He will surely be very missed by his loved ones. Lisa Wells

    Dave and I were teachers at Indian Creek and he would come to our home to get his blades sharpened. Dave was also my insurance man. He was a wonderful person. My thoughts go out to you Karen and your family. He will be missed.

    Mrs. Krause, I am so very sorry to hear of Mr. Krause's sudden passing! I'm glad that I got to see the two of you at the gas station a couple years ago. He was a tremendous teacher and a great influence in my learning. Please take care know that you, Dave, and Kim are in our thoughts.
