David A. Starr, 84, of Wintersville, Ohio died Saturday, December 30, 2006 at Trinity West. He was born October 18, 1922 in Steubenville, OH a son of the late Gilbert H. and Thelma Rairigh Starr. David retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Co. and was Protestant by faith. He served in the U.S. Navy during W.W. II and was a member of American Legion Argonne Post #33, Steubenville. He was preceded in death by his brothers Gilbert L. and Robert Starr; sisters Audrey Mae House and Frances “TY” Smith and a grandson Jeffery Owens. Surviving are his wife Betty Jacques Starr; three children Donna Starr of New Bern, NC, Bobbe (Douglas) Owens of West Lafayette, OH and John (Lynne) Starr of Plano, TX; 7 grandchildren; and 6 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, Wintersville Tuesday 6-9 p.m. where funeral services will be held Wednesday at 10 a.m. with Vicar David A. Oester officiating. Burial at Fort Steuben.
