Obituary For Daun H. Forester

Daun H. Forester, 69, of Wintersville, Ohio died Sunday, August 29, 2010 at UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh, PA.  He was born December 3, 1940 in Broadacre, Ohio a son of the late George H. and Edith R. Truax Forester.  Daun was a perfect gentleman and a very well respected man.  He loved nature and enjoyed hunting and fishing.  Daun was a bricklayer and co-owner of Forester Nursing Home.   Surviving are his wife and best friend Renee Albaugh Forester; children Adessa (Bill) DiMarzio of Columbus, OH, Daun (Eleanore) Forester of Chester, NJ, Amy (Todd) Goodrich of Pinedale, WY and Arianna (Mike) Elder of Cleveland, OH; three sisters Ruth (George) Eddy of Wintersville, OH, Lois (Leonard) Kayafas of Beaver Falls, PA and Shirley Dillon of Searcy, AR and twelve grandchildren, who loved him very much, Patrick, Kevin, Jordan, Nicolette, Vincenzo, Brock, Bailee, Blake, Ryan, Reid, Caroline and Elise.  Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville Wednesday 5 – 8 p.m. & Thursday noon – 2 p.m. The family would like to thank the many friends, care givers, nurses and doctors who have taken care of Daun in the past 35 years.   “Daun never gave up the fight, he just ran out of time”.  In lieu of Flowers memorial donations may be directed to American Heart Association, Salvation Army or Steubenville Rifle & Pistol Club.

    Daun and I were classmates from grade 1 through 12. I always liked him. What I remember mostly is that he was nice to be around and did not treat non-athletes any differently than he did his teammates. This world could use a few more DAUNS'. my condolences to his family.

    Dear Renee, Adessa, and Arianna I am so sorry to hear of Daun's passing. He was truly a great person, and he will be missed by all who knew him. I can't express, in words, how much our times together fishing meant to me, and I was so fortunate to learn from the best. All of you meant the world to him. You have a guardian angel for a life.
