I'm sorry my schedule doesn't allow me to offer condolences in person, but I want you to know how much I appreciated chatting with Bud when researching the book on Debo...and the follow-up phone calls that we shared. Word of Bud's death has brought me emails from Don Bice (Mike's brother) in Arizona and Howard Jones (the last operator of Debo) in California. I know they would want me to pass on their feelings of loss as well.

I was pleased to bring my three sons to visit with "Bud" this past May. Bud influenced my life more than I can say. He took me to my first auto race and my life was forever changed. Bud hauled me around from Sportsman Park in Bedford Ohio to Heidleburg and Arden Downs at Little Washington Pa. I was at his wedding to Ginny and can still see them standing in the front of the Prebyterian Church in Smithfield. Bud was an ideal role model for a boy growing up, and I was proud to know him

It has been too many years since I have seen Bud, but have have nothing but the best of memories of a really good man. I was heartbroken at the tender age of 6 when he married Ginny (Virginia Smith) who was the girl of my dreams (and my brother felt the same) But if she wouldn't wait for me to grow up, then I felt that she had picked a good second choice. LOL Bud will be missed by all who knew him. His smile and good humor are etched on my heart. Ralph "Larry" Malone Orange City, Florida

Tom & Micki, I am so sorry to hear of Bud's passing. Don & I talked recently of him and I wondered how he was. We have not been to Smithfield for a few years but I will always cherish the memories I have being there. They were always happy times and your mom & dad always went out of their way to make us feel welcome. Your mom was like another sister to my dad and your grandpa the father that filled in when his died. God bless you both and may your memories be as sweet as mine are. With love and prayers, Sally & Don
