Daniel D. “Uncle Dan” Zook, Sr. 87 of Bloomingdale, Ohio died Sunday, August 18, 2002 at Kingston Nursing Home, Vermilion, Ohio. He was born in Steubenville, Ohio on April 11, 1915 a son of the late Joseph L. and Rena Permar Bucey Zook. Dan was a member of Wintersville Community Chapel and retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel Corp. He was preceded in death by his wife Marian B. Lazear Zook in 1990; two daughters Marian Louise Zook in 1958 and Barbara Ann Zook in 1961; six sisters Rena Drayer, Ida Beckett, Sarah Lash, Ruth Lash, Martha Hannen and Priscilla Davis; four brothers Thomas, Napolean, Linwood and Abraham Zook. Surviving are three sons Lucian “Buster” (Jeanette) Zook of Bloomingdale, Walter “Red” (Martha) Zook of Lorain, Ohio and Daniel “Butch” (Gale) Zook, Jr. of Cadiz, Ohio; three daughters Rena “Peggy” (Walter) Marker and Martha “Marty” (Paul) Hartle of Vermilion, Ohio and Flora Jean “Jeannie” (Richard) West of Port Washington, Ohio; one sister Gladys Testa of Wintersville; 12 grandchildren and 24 great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville on Tuesday 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. On Wednesday, friends may call at Wintersville Community Chapel from 9:30 a.m. until time of services at 10 a.m. with Rev.
