Dale W. Cline, 61, of Banks, Oregon, died Friday afternoon, June 17, 2005 at his home. He was born March 6, 1944 in Steubenville, Ohio, the son of Clayton Cline and Mildred (Miller) Cline. He was raised by goodly parents and graduated in the class of 1963 from Jefferson Union High School in Richmond, Ohio. He attended trade school with the Plumbers and Pipefitters Local Union #495 in Steubenville, Ohio and later in life attended college in the Portland area. He and his sweetheart, Charlotte F. Campbell, were united in marriage on October 10, 1964 at Center Chapel Church near Steubenville, Ohio. In 1967 they traveled to the Salt Lake Temple to be sealed as a family. They celebrated their 40th Wedding Anniversary this last October on a trip given to them by their children. Following their marriage they resided in the Steubenville area, later moving to Rockport, Missouri and then to Utah Valley, until settling in Oregon in January of 1996 and lived in Creswell and Dexter. They spent two years back in Ohio, prior to moving to the Banks community in 2000 where they have resided since. Dale worked in the construction industry as a pipefitter/welder for many years. He loved his work and the associations he made there. He helped construct nuclear power plants and later was instrumental in building the first Gasohol-Ethanol Plant in Rockport, Missouri which he also managed. He owned and operated a building and remodeling company for many years. Dale was a master plumber. Dale worked for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at the Provo Temple as a building engineer prior to moving to Oregon. He was an active member of the Cornelius Ward of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Forest Grove, where he last served as the assistance librarian. Dale served as a Branch President in Ohio, was counselor in the High Priest Group in Orem, Utah, served as a stake missionary many times and in various other capacities over his lifetime. He was a scoutmaster and always active in scouts throughout his sons’ lives. Among his special interests, his family was his life. He had a special love for serving in the church, was an avid woodsman, loved t travel and had a special bond with animals and nature. Dale had an insatiable appetite for acquiring knowledge – he especially loved history and was a great patriot. He always enjoyed playing with his grandchildren and loved hearing their laughter. Dale was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Saundra Cline; three brothers, Richard (Dick) “Red” Cline, Ralph “Bumps” Cline and Robert Cline; and his grandson, Mark Allen Morgan, Jr. Survivors include his wife, Charlotte F. Cline, of the family home in Banks, Oregon; his nine children and their spouses, Shelly D. and Craig Hancock, of Lehi, Utah; April L. and Mark Morgan, of Kirkland, Washington; Aaron M. Cline, of Portland, Oregon; Sarah A. and Mark Jones, of Banks, Oregon; Nathan J. Cline, of Banks, Oregon; Matthew A. and Christina Cline, of American Fork, Utah; Jacob D. and Serina Cline, of Hereford, Arizona; and Andrew S. Cline and Cara E.M. Cline, both of Banks, Oregon, two sisters, Patricia Kellermier and Paula Wayt, both of Steubenville, Ohio; and four brothers and sisters-in-law, Victor and Wanda Cline, Edward and Tracy Cline, Doyle and Peggy Cline and Charles and Jean Cline, all of the Steubenville, Ohio area. Also surviving are fifteen grandchildren, Kirsten, Owen, Jarom, Michael and Abigail Hancock; Mason and Gray Morgan; Isaac Cline; Christine, Spencer, Hayden and AbriAnne Jones; Demetria Cline; Ian Cline; and Myrryn Taylor; and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11:00 AM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Wintersville with Bishop Mark Hubbard, conducting. Viewing will be held on Friday from 7-9 PM and Saturday at 10:00 AM until the funeral. Dedication of the Grave and Interment will follow at the Center Chapel Cemetery, Steubenville, Ohio. The family suggests that remembrances may be contributions to the Church Missionary Fund or to a Trust Fund for his daughter, Cara E.M. Cline, in his memory.
