Obituary For Dakota J. "Big D" McCleery

DAKOTA JAMES “BIG D” McCLEERY, 22, died suddenly and unexpectant on

Tuesday, January 31, 2017. Beloved and only son of J. Thomas McCleery and

Valerie J. Shrieve, Dakota was a 2013 graduate of Indian Creek H.S. and

graduated from Eastern Gateway Community College in May 2016 with an

Associate Degree in electrical engineering. Following in the footsteps of his father

and grandfather, Dakota was deeply involved with the family farm.

A fun loving, outgoing, caring young man who always had a smile on his face,

Dakota was always there when you needed him. Embracing each day with the joy

of life, Dakota was devoted to his family. He was the apple of his father’s eye and

the essence of his mother’s heart.

Preceded in death by both his maternal grandparents, Carole Shrieve and William Shrieve and paternal grandparents, Veronica and James S. McCleery, he is survived by his parents, Valerie J. Shrieve and J. Thomas McCleery, aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family and “special grandma” Midge Kaufman.

Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd.,

Wintersville, OH on Friday, February 3, 2017 from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Friends may also call on Saturday, Ferbruary 4, 2017 from 10a.m. until time of services at 11a.m. Burial at Union Cemetery.
