Dorothy Louise “Dot” Andress, 81, of Steubenville, Ohio died Wednesday, July 13, 2011 at her daughter’s residence. She was born November 5, 1929 in Steubenville a daughter of the late William & Louise Blake Plotts. She was a member, Sunday schoolteacher and kettler for Salvation Army. Preceding Dorothy in death were her husband Robert Andress; three daughters Bessie Louise Andress, Susan Davis & June Still; son Robert J. Andress, Sr. and one grandson. Surviving are her children Rev. Gerald (Terry) Plotts of Cadiz, William (Violet) Andress, Sr. of Smithfield & Margaret “Peggy” (William) Anthony of Mingo; 22 grandchildren; 83 great grandchildren; 32 great great grandchildren; three brothers Daniel Plotts, Albert (Donna) Plotts & Frank (Joann) Plotts; sister Susan Plotts; and companion Carl A. Crawford, Sr. Friends may call at Shorac Funeral Home, 611 N. Fourth Street, Steubenville, on Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. where services will be held at 10. a.m. Friday with Rev. Gerald Plotts officiating. Burial at Highland Hills. Memorials may be made to American Cancer Society.
