Clara E. Frey, 91, of Wintersville passed away on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at Trinity West. She was born in Steubenville on December 27, 1926 a daughter of the late Jess and Esther Merritt Bickerstaff. She was a member of the former Alikanna Methodist Church and had been a member of Pottery Addition Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary. She was a graduate of Jefferson Union High School and had worked at the former Steubenville Pottery. She loved to play cards, was an avid reader and gardener. She enjoyed spending happy times with family and friends. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband George E. Frey, Jr; brothers Ken Bickerstaff and James “Whitey” Orwick; sisters Delores Bickerstaff and Esther Turndick. Clara is survived by her daughters Christina Frey of Bloomingdale, OH and Amy Frey-Floch and her husband Hannes of Vienna, Austria; son Mark (Joanne) Frey of Pittsburgh, PA; granddaughter Megan Frey, who was the sunshine of her life; many loving nieces and nephews. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Rd., Wintersville, OH on Tuesday 2-4 and 6-8p.m., where funeral services will be held on Wednesday 10a.m. with Rev. Bill Lawrence officiating. Entombment at Fort Steuben Burial Estates.
