Chester L. “Chet” Sullivan 74 of Wintersville, Ohio died Sunday, July 4, 2004 at Trinity West ER. He was born in Youngstown, Ohio on May 13, 1930. He was preceded in death by his father Chester Brown, his mother Eleanor Kelly Sullivan and step-father John Sullivan. Chet was a member of Zion United Church of Christ in Steubenville, Masonic Lodge #45 F&AM, Scottish Rite Northern Jurisdiction, Jefferson County Sportsman Club and American Legion Argonne Post 33. He was retired from Wheeling-Pittsburgh Steel, where he worked in the Open Hearth and Railroad. He was also a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean Conflict. Chet is survived by his wife June Shonek Sullivan, whom he married on November 17, 1951, son Brian L. Sullivan of Wintersville, daughters Nanci A. Sullivan of Bridgeville, PA and Patricia L. (Doug) Gosney of Wintersville, half-brothers Kenneth, Curtis and Myron, half-sisters Evelyn and Karen, grandchildren Eric and Justin Gosney and Austin Pitts, great grandson Jacob Gosney. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, on Thursday from 6-9 p.m. Friends may also call on Friday from 10a.m. until time of services at 11a.m. at Zion United Church of Christ, 139 N. 5th Street, Steubenville, with Rev. Thomas Bullard officiating. Burial at Union Cemetery, Steubenville, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research or the American Diabetes Association.
