Chester E. Harmon 88 of Steubenville, Ohio died Sunday, December 21, 2003 at Carriage Inn, Steubenville, He was born in Graysville, Ohio on November 6, 1915 a son of the late Fred and Julia Hill Harmon. He was a member of LaBelle View Church of Christ where he served as a deacon and trustee and a member of Loyal Mens Class. Chet retired from Weirton Steel Co. safety stores. He was preceded in death by two brothers French and Avery Harmon and two sisters Evelyn Hawkins and Ethel Harmon. Surviving are his wife Arlene K. Geckler Harmon whom he married on September 2, 1939; one daughter Judy (Bill) Burns of Steubenville; granddaughter Cheryl (Bill) Wilson of Hopedale, grandson Rick Burns of Steubenville; great grandson Rob Wilson of Hopedale; two brothers Fred (Ann) Harmon of Howard, Ohio and Robert (Marge) Harmon of Atlanta, Georgia and one sister Ruth (Ted) Speyer of Dover, Ohio. Friends may call at Dunlope-Shorac Funeral Home, 215 Fernwood Road, Wintersville, Ohio on Monday 7-9 p.m. and on Tuesday from 12:30 p.m. until time of services at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Tom Arehart officiating.
